Customers of Swiss Health Insurance Provider KPT are benefiting from a 5 percent reduction on premiums for all additional insurance policies if they operate their KPT insurance policies online. One of the things that has made this possible is an archiving and workflow solutions provided by T-Systems. The health insurance company uses it to optimise and automate the distribution, processing and archiving of on-line insurance policies and other documents.
A new electronic archive provides policyholders with a round-the-clock overall viewing facility and control over their insurance cover. They can make changes themselves very easily. Policyholders receive a text message or an email informing them when they can view new information, or when documents are ready for them. The elimination of paper documents and correspondence saves time and expense – and KPT is passing on the savings to its customers by giving them a discount of five percent on premiums for all supplementary insurance policies.
T-Systems is the market leader in integrated ICT solutions. The ICT service provider has developed and optimised the electronic processing of policy documents for KPT in Switzerland. The automated processes are connected to an archive solution. T-Systems manages and prepares the data at its own computer centre. The contract for this project, which began at the end of last year, will run until 2011.
The partnership with T-Systems considerably increases the attractiveness of what at KPT is already the most advanced interactive platform in the insurance industry,” said Patrik Heierli, IT manager at KPT. “In our many years of cooperation T-Systems has gained our trust. Using innovative and reliable ICT solutions it is possible both to cover the needs of our customers and to meet our requirements for slim and cost-reducing work procedures.
“We are proud that our Managed Document Services are able to help KPT move towards the future of e-insurance,” said Gregor Stüchli, CEO of T-Systems Switzerland Ltd. “We are already working together towards further enhancements with regard to electronic customer files. In future policyholders will have access to all their correspondence with KPT.
