Nobel Biocare relies on T-Systems for global telecommunications

Zollikofen, September 17, 2009

Nobel Biocare Holding AG with its registered office in Zurich has entrusted T-Systems with setting up and operating its international corporate network. In this way, the world market leader in innovative restorative and aesthetic dental solutions is optimising its transnational telecommunications in 40 locations and more efficiently controlling its production capacities. In addition to smooth communication, the network also offers protection against unauthorised access and secures the flow of information. For further branches continuous connection to the existing network is provided.
T-Systems’ IT-based corporate network will manage Nobel Biocare’s global telecommunications. The company is relying on the Internet protocol (IP) to continuously transport speech and data worldwide on a single platform. This includes, for example, key services like e-mail, and protection against computer viruses. In addition, bandwidths can be provided as needed and the network can be tailored at any time to the business development of the sites and regional circumstances.
All of the data services will run via the standardised communications infrastructure. Using MPLS (Multi Protocol Label Switching) technology, Nobel Biocare can flexibly determine which business-critical applications have priority in the network and make optimal use of the network’s bandwidth. The safety of the entire network is constantly ensured by the central administration of gateways with spam and virus protection along with T-Systems’ proactive system surveillance.
"The order from the medical technology firm Nobel Biocare demonstrates that our high performance network is valued on the market – not least thanks to our modular price structure," says René Mulder, Corporate Customers Director and Executive Board Member at T-Systems in Switzerland.
Emhart Glass, Alpiq, and the automotive supplier Bosch and Siemens, to name just a few, also depend along with Nobel Biocare on MPLS technology from T-Systems. In Switzerland, T-Systems serves other customers in the health care sector in addition to Nobel Biocare, such as clinics, health insurance and pharmacies.
