The operation of the new core banking platform Finnova at Migros Bank has been extremely stable since the start of production at the beginning of November 2009.
T-Systems is responsible for the operations and application management. Albert Steck, spokesperson Migros Bank, explains: “T-Systems is operating the new banking platform with a high level of specialist expertise and rapid reaction times. The specialist teams work exceptionally well together.”
The operation in the so-called Real Application Cluster (RAC) offers Migros Bank a high degree of standardisation and automation along with extremely high system stability, because when the RAC is used in normal operations two or more computer nodes are activated within the computer network and can access the same data sets. If one computer should fail, clients can immediately be connected to one of the remaining computer nodes without the need for restart time. T-Systems implemented this technology for the first time in the Finnova environment.
“After over 40,000 project hours and more than 200 systems installed with 60 peripheral systems, the switchover took place smoothly, and everything has been running soundly since production started. The substantial experience gained from operations at the Graubündner Kantonalbank has definitely been of benefit to us,” explains Hans Nagel, Director Systems Integration & Banking at T-Systems in Switzerland.
The Finnova core banking system will enable Migros Bank to further increase efficiency and focus its product range even more directly on the needs of its customers. Migros Bank successfully launched operations using the Finnova IT platform on schedule on November 3, 2009.
