T-Systems has selected the “Take off! Student of the Year 2009” in Switzerland. The title was awarded on May 7, 2009 in Zürich when the Universum Award was presented.

Outstanding university and technical college students in the disciplines of management, IT and business engineering were eligible to apply to be the Student of the Year. Applicants who displayed not only academic performance but also an entrepreneurial way of thinking, a fascination with information technology and the appropriate soft skills had good prospects of winning the title.

The successful applicant was Miriam Geissmann, a Bachelor’s degree student of business administration at the University of St. Gallen. The winner can now look forward to an exciting internship for several months in the Products & Innovation section at Deutsche Telekom AG in Darmstadt. This functional unit develops and manages innovative and competitive products, services and business models for Deutsche Telekom’s successful market presence. This includes for example Softwareload, the Deutsche Telekom download portal, which was recently also launched in Switzerland. PC software can be bought and downloaded at www.softwareload.ch.
