Full control of business processes with T-Systems

Frankfurt am Main, January 12, 2010
T-Systems has developed a new type of business process monitoring (BPM) system, which monitors critical business processes at all levels within a SAP application environment right round the clock. The solution is also compatible with T-Systems’ cloud computing products for SAP services.
Current monitoring systems only look at technical processes. They report faults, but cannot match them directly to individual business processes. The new BPM system is different: it not only detects errors but also identifies the business processes affected. The solution is largely standardized and can be integrated into existing processes with little effort. This is because it is based on the widely-used SAP Solution Manager, which supports the implementation and operation of corporate applications.
The BPM system raises an alarm when there is a fault with a process and localizes the causes of the fault, so service staff can initiate immediate countermeasures. Before this, T-Systems stores threshold values for each process step, agreed with the corporate customer, and error messages are triggered when these values are not met or exceeded.
The monitoring solution also works in reverse when there is a general error message. If there is a network fault, for example, the system immediately reports
which business process is affected, at what point and to what extent. This transparency is the basis for focused, prompt and cost-saving fault clearance.
